I do not know where to start.īecause this site has experienced people, I thought that I would start here. I have been looking periodically at the hydroponic sites and have tried gravity watering with some success but I would like to build a better system or purchase one. This is where I need the most help, I am unfamiliar with the hydroponic systems. One source for water (RO) and one source for the nutrients. Orchids like infrequent weak feedings so I would have to probably have two sources. I treat these plants the same as my other orchids as far as watering and misting.īecause I have not had success with the vanilla orchid in pots previously, I would like to set up an automated hydroponic system.

They are in a plastic container with holes drilled in the sides approximately 1 in from the bottom of the container. A few of my orchids are grown semi-hydroponically. I have no true experience with hydroponics. I live in the Allegheny Mt range and have cooler temperatures. Where it will be placed in the other seasons depends on local weather temperature trends. I would like to grow the plant indoors in the winter and outside in the summer.
